PPR Pipes for the Pharmaceutical Industry
PPR pipes (Polypropylene Random Copolymer) are used in pharmaceutical manufacturing plants for water distribution, cooling systems, HVAC, and other industrial utility applications. They offer corrosion resistance, smooth internal surfaces, and heat-fusion joints that help reduce leakage risks. However, the pipe grade must be selected according to the specific pharmaceutical application.

1. Applications of PPR Pipes in Pharmaceutical Industries
1. Purified Water Distribution
Distribution of treated and purified water where the piping material meets the required water-quality specifications.
RO (Reverse Osmosis) water supply.
Utility water distribution throughout the plant.
Important: Purified water systems require specific material, hygiene, and validation requirements. Standard plumbing-grade PPR should not automatically be used for critical purified-water systems.
2. HVAC and Chilled Water Systems
Chilled water supply to air-conditioning units.
Cooling water circulation for HVAC equipment.
Water distribution to air-handling units (AHUs).
Cooling circuits for temperature-controlled production areas.
3. Hot and Cold Water Supply
Hot water distribution for general plant utilities.
Cold water supply to production and service areas.
Water supply to washing and cleaning facilities.
4. Cooling Water Systems
Cooling water circulation for manufacturing equipment.
Water supply to chillers and heat exchangers.
Cooling circuits for auxiliary machinery.
5. Compressed Air Systems
PPR pipes may be used for compressed-air distribution only when the specific piping system is approved and rated by its manufacturer for compressed air.
